California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante , who was currently running for governor of California. His opponent was criticism free Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was way ahead in the polls. Bustamante, in the article is linked to a group MEChA, when he was in college. MEChA stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan. They believe that the Federal government is campaigning to pacify and assimilate by labeling them "Hispanic." The term "Hispanic" seeks to deny our native heritage by ignoring our unique socioeconomic and historical aspect of their important existence.

These factors have made it necessary for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztl²n to affirm their philosophy of liberation for educational, socioeconomic, and political empowerment for their Chicano and Chicana nation. The Chicano and Chicana nationalist organizations, M.E.Ch. A. is committed to end the cultural tyranny suffered at the hands of institutional and systematic discrimination that holds their cultural captive. They seek an end to oppression and exploitation of the Chicano and Chicana Community.

In Chicano folklore, Aztlan is often appropriated as the name for that portion of Mexico that was taken over by the United States after the Mexican-American War of 1846, on the belief that this greater area represents the point of parting of the Aztec migrations(MECha website). In the past they protested and wanted the same educational rights as anyone in America and made an effort to continue to fight for that. They recently have made news to be doing very violent riots in college campuses, which left the campus to a costly sum to fix it up.

So now that we know what the purpose is for they organization, here comes the discrimination part. Despite the fact that in the end of the article, Arnold Schwarzenegger's father seems to be a Nazi. In the article it quotes that...
