Honest, responsible, wise, open to new ideas and good public speaker are only a few of the characteristics we want and/or expected a president to have. We need a honest person that would work for the nation and not to please himself, responsible to trust the safety of the whole nation and it's citizens, wise to make good decisions to help us improve, open to new ideas to create new things to make our lives easier and a good speaker to keep us informed about the problem we are going thru or goals we achieved, a person who shows care toward us, the citizens, so we can trust in him.
Calvin Coolidge had most of these characteristics but some of them were not shown directly, as the task of good speaker; he was a man of few words which gave him the nickname of "Silent Cal", for being quiet and not talk that much, besides back in the days there were not much media that could follow him everywhere and know what he did.
