In the survey I did for capital punishment more young people form 16-31 are against capital punishment, and most people over 30 are for capital punishment. Capital punishment is a highly controversial subject about which most people have opinions about. There are different directions to capital punishment. In the United States, capital punishment began in colonial times when we didn't listen to English peoples wishes. Some resolution passed some of capital laws. After the War for Independence and the acceptance of the Constitution, America's death penalty discuss began in earnest. Armed with the right to free speech afforded by the new democratic system and also as the philosophies of the European explanation, some Americans began to question whether government should have the power to end a life. Some people say that killing in any form is totally wrong. Some people agree that killing is wrong, however, if one person kills another they should be killed too.

Our nation's deaths have always held a large population of African Americans, comparing to other race African Americans people got death penalty the most. The former were sometime executed for what was less capital offense than whites. We still have this discrimination going on right now; more black people are getting executed than any other race. Of the 3,200 prisoners on death row in 1996, 40% of them were black.

The punishment should fit the crime. If a person takes another persons life away from them they should also be killed. People who kill like animals should be treated the same way, and put to sleep like dogs. The death penalty should not be given to people. People have hearts and souls and emotion.
