A Change Is Occurring: A time comes every year from when school starts and the weather going from hot to cold and even colder. Caroline Norton and Edward Coxe are both talking about changing of weather and how fall is coming to an end. Norton shows a great deal of love when she talks about fall ending and a big change is occurring. In "The Last Leaf" Coxe shows that time will again come for the trees to blossom and there won't be one last leaf hanging on the trees. Many people in the world today wish that fall would never end, to see all the colors of the leaves falling of the trees just dying. There is a great deal of respect to the change it has on people theses days from how it makes them look back to old memories and how fall leaving and winter coming with the change in weather.

Many people do not realize that the weather has an impact on the way we think, act or even look back at old memories. When the weather changes people have a different way to think " In the cold change which time hath wrought on love/ (The snowy winter of his summer prime), / Should a chance sigh or sudden tear-drop move/ Thy heart to memory of the olden time;"(Norton1-4). Here Norton reflects back on the change that is occurring and how it has a big effect on the way most of us act. People without Woloschuk-2 realizing the effect of the weather makes them look back on the good times they have had. By showing this there is a big emotional difference in peoples lives. Secondly, many people if they know each other well can tell if one is in a bad mood or not and for how long they are. "Thou past relic from yon widowed tree, / Hovering awhile in air as if to leave/ Thy native sprig reluctant, how I grieve/ And heave the sigh of kindred sympathy. Here Coxe is contrasting how people seem to be in different moods when time changes and seasons change. Most people seem to look back and reflect of their old memories. When Coxe says "Sympathy" (Coxe1-4) he has sympathy on the people's memories. Here Norton and Coxe both show that people do change they way they act especially how they look back on old memories that have happened.

When warm turns to cold nature changes in a big way from the trees with all the leaves to the trees with no leaves at all. The seasons change and so does the weather. "What boots it that a momentary flame/ shoots from the ashes of a dying fire?"(Norton 9-10). This explains that the sun has it's times to give off the heat that it gives and times for it to just be shining. When it starts to get cold out the sunshines but there is no heat therefore many people know when winter is arriving. "Dying fire" the heat will be soon forgotten until it is time to give it again. Further more when it gets cold out everything goes hard and frozen. "Thus far resemble, and this frame like thee/ In the cold silent ground be doomed to lie, / Thou never more will climb thy parent tree;"(Coxe 10-12). The ground is frozen; it's not soft like it used to be in the summer. The trees are not as they were in the summer; branches have frozen and may break easily. Therefore not Woloschuk-3 anyone may be safe to climb them until summer arrives again. There are many signs that begin to happen when seasons end and a new one is beginning.

In conclusion many memories come back to people at the weirdest times and nobody knows why that happens. The weather changing has a big effect and it shows by the little things that start to happen. Many memories are always great to have you can always look back at them and reflect on all the good times that people have had. The bad ones remind you that you can change what happens if it ever happens again. In other words there is a lot of different ways people look back on the memories hey have had and why they look back on them. Many people like to see the seasons come and go cause it's a change and they are all beautiful.
