Sons of Abraham

Christianity and Islam are two of the world's most predominant religions and these two, along with Judaism have much the same original basis however all now differ slightly in their practice. Conflict has arisen between these three world religions due to the differences they each now have. They way in which they differ include such aspects as their base belief eg. who is God, the texts that they each practice using and the rituals they each undertake in order to praise their God.

Christians believe that god is a trinity but all still the same divine and omnipresent power. They believe that the triune God- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit- are all one in the same. Christians believe that God the Father sent his Son Jesus to be born by the virgin Mary, so as to save us from our sins and so that we may live as one with God in heaven.

Islam however believes that the only true God is Allah, and that Muhammad is the prophet of Allah- so a likeness can be drawn between the Islamic Allah and the Christian Jesus. To most that practice Islam, it is not just a religion but a way of life that is inescapable, that they are born into the Islamic world from Allah and the will one day return to him also.

Judaism is different again. Jews believe that Judaism, as a religion, was founded by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They recognise that the relationship that each Jew holds with God is sacred and unforgettable. They believe that the day that God delivered a message to Abraham to pass on to others, was when the relationship commenced to exist.

Christians preach from and look to one and only one text...
