College Education is Worth It

Theodore Roosevelt ever said that, "A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car, but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad". Roosevelt's words are true today as it demonstrates the function of university education to a man. University education is meant to accomplish many things. The aim of university education are to receive a general education, to study the liberal arts, and to prepare ourselves for entry into government, business, industry, or the professions. University education is worth it because it learns interpersonal skills, provide networking value, and more and more jobs now require college degrees.

In university education, people are learned interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills is not only the skills of listening, cooperating, and communicating effectively, but also the more complex abilities to tune in to another person and respond appropriately, to align personal agendas with the goals of the group, and to choose from a variety of strategies to help a relationship flourish or a group function (Arthur Chickering, 2013).

Students have the opportunity to interact with other students and faculty, to join student organizations and clubs, and to take part in discussions and debates. By partying, students also learn social skills. They learn how to interact with each other. Interpersonal skills are important because it gives more successful in both professional and personal lives. This is true because those with higher intelligent quotients have higher problem solving abilities that correlate to better life qualities.

Furthermore, university education provide networking value as college exposes students to diverse people and ideas. By participating in clubs, organizations, and teams, students are able to expand their network. They meet new people and network with possible business...
