Critical Comment - Entrepreneurship

In Stephen R. Coveys book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" he empowers readers to overcome their negative routines and helps them creates more effective social and work environments. Covey explains to his readers that it is very easy to apply theses seven principles in everyday life, but in order to do so you will have to have control of all 4 of your dimensions of nature. The habits covey talks about fit in with everyday life. They are learnt by what we have gotten out of society. What we learn, want to learn, and the skills we get from them are the habits and practice we use in life. (As shown in the below diagram)

The first step people have to take is the step from dependence to independence, and that is what the first three habits are for. These habits are

qHabit 1: Be Proactive

qHabit 2: Begin With the End in Mind

qHabit 3: Put First Things First

Habit 1- Be Proactive

Habit 1 is to be "proactive" and positive.

This habit shows that as human beings we must take responsibility for our own choices, decisions, and lives. Being the proactive person means that you act rather than be acted on. According to Covey's book,

Part of increasing our self-awareness is understanding our Circle of Concern; that is, the array of concern in which we have mental or emotional attachment. There is a Circle of influence that resides between this reflecting what we have control over.
