Communication Process

The communication process is very important in my companies well being. Our Company Credo provides employees with a statement of ethical principles to guide them in everything they do. The Credo expresses the responsibilities we have to our customers, employees, communities and stockholders. Each of our companies has its own management structure and operates under ethical principles embodied in our Credo. Our decentralized structure provides a broad range of opportunities across our Family of Companies. My company makes an effort to have monthly communication meetings that benefit the employees by giving them a feeling of worth in their position. These meeting explain the company's process in the marketplace and what changes need to be made, both positive and negative. This is one communication process that I feel works to a point. These meetings sometimes leave you in a situation where you feel like you haven't been understood or that you didn't really understand what that other person was saying? Or that you thought you understood what the boss wanted, but too late you found out you were wrong? Communication is the process through which one person makes his/her ideas known to another.

It is a total skill that requires the ability to get other people to understand us and to get the job done. Even with the technological advances today, verbal communication with its accompanying signals and cues is still a primary way we communicate with others and maintain relationships at home and at work. This communication style is lacking in some ways in that many people feel afraid to stand up and ask questions to the President or Vice President of the company. Because of that distraction I feel that a lot of important questions are not ever discussed which leaves employees feeling left out. I...
