The cons of abortion.

Abortion is a very controversial and emotional subject that can lead to many heated debates. Every person has their own opinion on abortion. I, like everyone else, have my own opinion and my own personal views on this subject. I cannot speak for anyone else but myself.

First of all, abortions kill babies. A fetus is more than just a piece of biological tissue. 100% of a person's genetic make-up is determined at conception, so therefore a fetus is a distinct organism. At 3 weeks of pregnancy nerve growth begins, the spinal cord begins to develop and at the end of the spinal cord is a small mass that will be formed into the brain. At 6 weeks, the heart of a fetus is already formed and will begin to beat and pump blood. Do to these scientific facts, if you have an abortion you are committing murder.

Secondly, the vast majority of children that are born in the United States will be wanted children.

While there are 2 million people on waiting lists desiring to adopt children, 1.6 million abortions occur each year in the U.S. These people are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to get these children. In most of these cases adopted children are treated as well as biological children in these homes and are well cared for.

Finally, the court decision that overturned the law outlawing abortions, better known as Roe v. Wade, was based on false statements and accusations from the very beginning. Norma McCorvey ('Roe' of Roe v. Wade) stated in an interview with ABC's 'World News Tonight' "Abortion has been founded on lies and deception from the very beginning.
