"Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", a story that centers around the hopeful retirement of legend Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat), and his attempt to hand over his mystical sword, the Green Destiny. As most stories go, the sword is snatched by Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi), the daughter of an important general. She is taught by Jade Fox (Cheng Pei Pei), the villain responsible for the death of Bai's mentor. Bai and Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), use the power of martial arts to get the sword back from Jade Fox.

Like many western films, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is an action-packed love story, but only at first. This intense movie seems to have a plot of western and eastern ideals like the Inevitable and the unpredictable review states, but it is really a film based on destiny.

The Inevitable and the unpredictable defends the film by claiming that you cannot walk away from your destiny because your destiny is always with you.

Li Mu Bai tries to retire and gives up his sword, but when it gets into the hands of Jade Fox he knows that something must be done to stop her. Americans tend to think that people can do anything because their lives are prewritten, but Li Mu Bai could have chosen to not respond to the disappearance of the sword. It is shown here that no one's lives are prewritten, but erases its past as it evolves.

At the beginning of the film love is depicted and gave a clue that love was not the answer to the movie. What kept the film going and ended it was what path was taken by the characters. Jen could have used her incredible talent to cause chaos by joining the dark side. She is 'utterly willful and...
