Abigail Williams is presented as the most evil character in The Crucible. Abigail is cunning, conniving, and deceitful. She tells lies, manipulates her friends and the entire town, and eventually sends nineteen innocent people to their deaths. Abigail's motivations never seem more complex than simple jealousy and a desire to have revenge on Elizabeth Proctor. This is why Abigail Williams is the nucleus of all evil in the story.

The lies are a big influence in the story's ending. Once Abigail finds out that she is going to be disciplined for her actions in the woods, she quickly takes the blame off of her by telling a lie. While in court, Abigail declarers that she saw people from the village with the devil. This was a witty decision by Abigail, and that went against the Puritan beliefs. On one occasion my sister and I were fighting about who got to use the computer and I told a lie to get the valuable time I wanted to use the computer.

As a result I got the time on the computer.

During the course of the story Abigail manipulates everyone in the town to get what she wants. She goes as far as to shoving a pin into her abdomen and this is to be found as an act of voodoo or also known as witchcraft. This all happened while Elizabeth was in court and shoved a pin in her doll's stomach for safe keeping. Abigail saw this and anther day took a pin and shoved it in her own stomach. Which was also done with Elizabeth's doll and would be used to convict Elizabeth of voodoo.
