Book report

My book report is on the Hunger Games and the author of this book is Suzanne Collins. In this book, it's all about survival. There are twelve districts and they all have to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games. They all have to fight to the death on live TV in front of their family and friends. In districts twelve, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister's place when she was called. Katniss' hunting skills helps her to survive in the games. So surviving is just second nature to her.

Fighting for your life is not a game, but to the Capital it is. They keep the districts in order and forces them to participate in the annual Hunger Games. I think that it's wrong to make teenagers fight for their lives just to be entertained.

They're just kids who are still learning on how to be an adult and they still have a future to plan in their lives as well. I begin to wonder what it would be like to be one of those participants in those games. It must've been very scary to experience this because you don't know if you're going to live or die.

Katniss Everdeen, the main character, is a very strong woman. She intends to keep her family alive and well. Katniss is also the "man" of the house because her father had died in a coal mine explosion. To keep her family alive, she hunts illegally with her best friend Gale, to prevent her family from starving. I admire her skills and strength she has for her family.
