The life for a person who has diabetes can be a very unpleasant one. They cannot do the same they once were able to do. The background of diabetes is that it is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Unfortunately insulin is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. Basically if someone has diabetes then they must now regulated there own sugar intake. Research has not found the exact cause of the diseases both some cases have studied to find out that genetics and environmental factors have something to do with it. Currently 17 million people in the United States, about 6.2 percent of the population have diabetes. The two common types of diabetes known, the first is type 1, which results from the body?s failure to produce insulin; the other is type 2, which results from insulin resistance.

Currently most people in the United States suffer from type 2. The most important part about diabetic research is trying to reduce the risk associated with the disease. The one topic that stands out more than all the rest is the topic of physical activity.

The topics chosen to do the research for the title of this paper are based on physical activity and how a person can benefit from normal physical activity. The reason why these particular articles were chosen is because of there relevance to the research and how closely they relate. These are article are important because they show how if a person would exercise and eat right that they can reduce the risk diabetes and if they do have the disease then they can live a longer projected life than someone who does not.
