It is simply as everyone must have their strong point and weakness. There is no one perfect and no one is a totally bad guy. I have just read "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. I agreed that Catherine has both good and bad traits. Catherine can be considered as a quite positive character at the beginning of the book, but she became bad later on. Of course, she got good traits and bad traits as she was both positive and negative character in this story.

Firstly, let us talk about Catherine's merit. Catherine had a kind heart. She cared of Heathcliff. She also had a sacrificed heart. When she did anything wrong, she would reflect her mistakes.

Sympathetic means being kind to somebody and kind- hearted. Catherine was kind to Heathcliff when she was young. When Heathcliff was brought by Mr. Earnshaw from Liverpool, Hindley treated Heathcliff badly. Although Hindley discriminated against Heathcliff and said that Heathcliff was a gypsy, Catherine still played with him.

Catherine accepted Heathcliff as a good friend. Later when Mr. Earnshaw died, Hindley came back and made him as a servant. But she didn't mind his dirty and still talking, playing together. Once they had run out at night, Catherine was bitten by a guard dog. She stayed at Thrushcross Grange for curing. When she came back, she wore beautiful clothes. She didn't touch the dogs as she was fear that the dogs may dirty her clothes. But when she met Heathcliff, although Heathcliff was dirty and dirt are covered his face, Catherine still flew herself to him and kissed him. She asked, " Heathcliff, have you forgotten me ? " When Edgar Linton was having dinner with Hindley and Catherine, Heathcliff came in and dashed hot apple juice against Edgar's face and neck. This...
