Do you believe that the legal drinking age should remain twenty-one or be lowered to the age of eighteen? I know that everyone has different viewpoints on this matter but learning the facts of both side is important and valuable to know in order to have an educated opinion. On one side of this issue, one's opinion would lean toward wanting to keep the legal drinking age of today's modern world at the age of twenty-one. On the other side of this issue, one would want lean for lowering the legal age to eighteen because that is the legal age of adulthood. In my opinion, I believe that the legal drinking age of twenty-one should remain the same because of the issues of underage drinking, alcohol abuse and health problems.

First of all, I believe that the legal drinking should remain the age of twenty-one because of underage drinking. According to potsdam.edu,

alcohol abuse is a significant problem among young people and a solution needs to be found. "Young men and women are the future of this society and they are becoming addicted to alcohol before becoming the legal age. It's bad enough that adults become addicted to the drug we call alcohol. This is a serious problem and we must find a solution". (Did not give speaker). This means that the worlds high school and college age students are becoming addicted to alcohol before they're even able to buy alcohol and that we must find a way to stop this madness. Also according to the site listed above, the statistics that you see or hear on the news are a bunch of baloney.
