Erin Brockovich Movie

The film 'Erin Brockovich' is the true story of one woman's successful initiative to investigate the deaths and illnesses of dozens of individuals. The film is about a small law firm that takes on an extremely powerful organization, PG & E (Pacific Gas & Electric), on the account that they were knowingly polluting Hinkley and harming the citizens. Erin was a divorced mother struggling to raise three kids and spent a lot when she set off the investigation that forced the company to pay for leaking Hexavalent chromium into the water supply of a small California town which caused various diseases. She was accepted to work in a law firm without formal legal training or much education at all.

There is Criminal Negligence in PG&E's part because the ponds containing water with harmful chromium 6 had a leak.

It affected the water supply of Hinkley resulting into numerous diseases. PG&E have made a lot of moves to cover up what they made like; (1) lying by publicizing their use of chromium-3 instead of chromium-6 through pamphlets and seminars; (2) paid doctors to lie to the residents of Hinkley about the true cause of their diseases and; (3) buying properties in Hinkley to cover up the mess they made. These crimes resulted into civil liabilities. These alternative solutions they have come up are something unethical and unjust. Decisions by high level management are really wrong and must be changed. As part of their corporate social responsibility, they must have done a long term plan before operating which must have include the safety and welfare of the community it belongs and its environment.
