Step 1: GoalThe goal of my marketing plan is to promote this year’s Euro 2008 Championship soccer games in Austria and Switzerland. I want to reach as many people as possible to attend the summer games.

Step 2: DescriptionThe Euro Championships occur every 4 years like the Olympics and involves every country in Europe that qualifies for the tournament. Only 16 teams qualify and are then divided into 4 groups consisting of 4 teams per group. Each team play the other 3 teams in their group once. With 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss, the top 2 teams from each group move on to the quarter-finals then semis and then championship game. Besides the matches there will be pre-game festivals outside the stadiums. They will consist of soccer challenges, such as: accuracy shooting, passing accuracy, penalty blocking and games involving the person to use their head to achieve a goal.

Food and beer will also be available. Inside and outside will be concession stands selling each team’s, and Euro 2008 apparel.

Step 3: ProjectionI project a very large outcome for this year’s games. Soccer in Europe is like football in America on steroids. The passion that the people in Europe have for soccer is undying and almost a way of life. Not to mention soccer is the most popular sport in the world. The game has been around for a very long time and the fan base is immaculate. The game itself is most entertaining. It is fast paced and the outcome is not always the same, despite the caliber of some of the teams. Perhaps the most value fans get out of the Euro Championships is the chance to see so many star athletes compete with and against one another. These teams...
