Euthanasia Euthanasia, or mercy killing is a controversial issue, which is widely debated in this country. I for instance think that it is right to go through with this practice because I think its wrong to leave people suffering with debilitating diseases or that are greatly incapacitated. Therefore I think this process should be legalized.

In the novel Of Mice and Men By John Stein Beck, there are some part in the story that mercy killing takes place, for example when Carlson says quote "'Look, Candy. This ol' dog jus' suffers himself all the time. If you was to take him out and shoot him right in back of the head-" he leaned over and pointed, ""”right there, why he'd never know what hit him.'" The old dog smells and he can't neither eat nor see and he's stiff with rheumatism. If I were in that situation I would want them to shoot me to because there's no point in living if you cant do what you desire.

Also in the novel Of Mice and Men By John Stein Beck, there was a part in the story were a person had to make a decision to kill another person because he was mentally ill, this takes place when George was forced to kill his best friend Lennie because he had a mental illness, George raised his hand with the gun in it and pulled the trigger, shot his best friend Lennie in back of the head. The reason he shoots him was because he got in trouble too much, though he did not mean to get in trouble. And if I were in this situation I would want them to do the same thing they did to Lennie because I know that I will be killed for my troubles by...
