Riordan Manufacturing is requesting system changes that will improve their inventory and manufacturing processes. We will use the System Development Life Cycle process, as we go through the recommendation, through the implementation phases. We will also explore several options to automate the inventory process to a just in time system in an effort to reduce the amount of working capitol needed for inventory.

Areas of Improvement

Several areas need to be improved at Riordan Manufacturing. The slow consolidation of operational processes has become a financial threat to Riorden Manufacturing. The current situation of the financial and accounting systems, between the divisions in Michigan and Georgia, has increased labor to process information. Each division lacks modern technology and operational packages that is needed to run a high efficient corporation. Government documents of consolidated reports are delivered late due to the delay in the reporting system. To make this process of consolidating easier, the company should select a new system that will be used by all the offices as well as plan for the purchase of new equipment to run the application.
