In this book, written by Ray Bradbury, the human interaction throughout the characters is very low. The amount of high spirited interactions between the characters is limited. The lack and/or abundance of interaction brought up many thoughts and feelings that would've otherwise not been implied. Taking a look at some of the relationships in this book will give you a better understanding of what this means and the variety of different relationships and their characteristics.

One such relationship dealt with two characters, who's relationship unlike many of the other relationships in the book, flowed very well. Montag and Clarisse McClellan communicated very well together and their interaction was sparked by fascination and wonder. This is showed in one incident when they first meet. Montag had a different feeling of Clarisse at first. (Bradbury 8. " You are an odd one"). Her inquisitive thinking made Montag think and it started the base of there interaction and their relationship.

(Bradbury 9. " Bet I know something else you don't. There's dew on the grass in the morning"). They felt comfortable around each other and they understood what the other was saying and how they felt. This is one reason why their relationship differed from many of the others in the book.

The relationship between Montag and his wife Mildred was very shaky at times. They did not interact and understand each other on a level that was needed for a good and steady relationship. At first their relationship seems normal but as you read on it is more complicated and complex. They were very separated emotionally and physically.

They were not on the same level. (Bradbury 42. " And suddenly she was so strange he couldn't believe he knew her at all"). Their relationship came to a low when Montag thought that he would not care if Mildred were to die. (Bradbury 44. " For it would be the dying of an unknown, a street face, a newspaper image, and it was suddenly so very wrong that he had begun to cry..."). Their relationship was so bad because of their communication and interaction problems. They viewed many things differently and they did not talk a lot.

There was a lack of interaction and communication in most of this book for many reasons. One reason people didn't want to communicate was because they were not supposed to openly talk about what they thought and how they felt like we are able to do today. People were expected to keep to themselves. Most people didn't want to feel inferior to other people around them. Today's' society heavily differs from the society that was described and written about in this book. In today's society we are taught that we should voice our opinions on what we think and we shouldn't care about what other people think about what we have to say. This is exactly the opposite of what is felt throughout the book. Today we are open to beliefs and that everyone is entitled to their own.

Books also play a large role in communication and interaction in the society of today. Books can help make people more intelligent. That is one reason why all books were burnt in this book. They didn't want some people to become more intelligent than others so that none would feel inferior to anybody.

The interpersonal contact and communication have progressed extremely well since the past. Everything is more open and comfortable than it was before. In the future things will only be able to get better because of how much we have progressed and how much the society has accomplished. I would hope that the future society would be even more advanced than it is now. I don't know how it could be but I guess if I did know than the society would already be like that. The society in this book starts t go down from the beginning because of a few different things. The society was the reason for all of the interaction on relationships in this book no matter what they were like. It all revolved around the society. The society was bad in the book so most of the relationships were bad.

I don't think that the society will ever go to how it was in this book but guess you can never tell what will happen in the future until you live it.
