Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451 is a book about the issue of censorship. Guy Montag is a fireman whose job it is not to put out fires, but to start them. He is part of an elite fire squad that burns books in order to keep people from reading. Guy is very satisfied with his work until one day he has a sudden change of heart. He realizes that he can no longer burn books. He decides that he will, in fact, start a revolution that will help bring books back. Guy is not sure what is in these books, but he knows that whatever is written has come from someone's ideas, and that he could probably learn from them. Guy goes on a journey, with the help of a professor, which he hopes will help him learn to read so that he could be happy with himself once again.

Guy lives in an age where all the news and entertainment is communicated through huge entertainment systems called parlors, and a Radio, which Guy and the professor use to communicate with each other. These two scientific aspects seem like they are attainable and are similar to what we have today. The huge parlors are almost like a computer and Big Screen TV mixed together. These are two items, which we have available today. The Radio resembles what our Secret Service uses. They use this device to give instructions and to find out important news about the business at hand.
