Victor Frankenstein: He is the creator of the monster. He is ambitious and curios. He is by birth a Genevese, and his family is one of the most distinguished of that republic. His temper is sometimes violent, and his passions vehement.

2. The Monster: He is Victor's creation and has a very hideous outer appearance. He is lonely and has been left alone by his creator. He is very ugly and people are scared of him.

3. Henry Clerval: He is Victor's very good friend. He understands everything about victor and they both have been Childhood friends. He was the son of a merchant of Geneva. He was a boy of singular talent and fancy. He loved enterprise, hardships, and even danger for its own sake. He was deeply read in books of chivalry and romance.

4. Elizabeth: she was called the "cousin" of victor. She was adopted by Victor's family and was married to Victor. She was thin and very fair. Her hair was the brightest living gold. Her brow was clear and ample, her blue eyes cloudless, and her lips and the molding of her face so expressive of sensibility and sweetness. She was the beautiful and adored companion of all Victor's occupations and pleasures. Everyone loved Elizabeth.

Minor characters 1. Robert Walton: He is the one who Victor is telling his story to. He has a lot in common with victor and they are alike in some ways. They become good friends. He is the captain of a ship.
