As Americans, we are born with an immense amount of freedom. To maintain that freedom, however; we are obligated to follow rules set forth by our government and to partake and give input in the society in which we live. Although we are all bestowed freedom, it can be taken away from us in the blink of an eye.

In our American society, the government has set rules that we, the people must follow. Breaking one or more of these rules could result in partially losing one's freedom. If an individual commits a serious crime and is sent to prison, obviously a large part of their freedom has been taken away. In order to withstand our individual freedom, we must act within the laws in our society. Living in America is a privilege and people need to remember that.

Another very important part of our obligation as Americans is voting.

Voting has become very over-looked in the past few years. It is a very important privilege that many Americans do not take seriously. Now, you are not going to be sent to prison because you did not vote and for that reason alone, many people do not think about it, nor do they really care.
