Freedom to say what we want is a more basic right than freedom to buy what we want. Analyze critically.
The freedom of speech is one of the Amendments that are part of the bill of rights. It is our right to say what we want, when we want, while other countries may not have the luxury of this. We, in the United States, are extremely fortunate to be able to say what we want, vote, etc. The freedom to buy what we want, anytime we want, where we want and when we want does not truly exist. One cannot just buy their freedom. No other society in the world permits personal freedom to the degree of the United States. Within the past years, America courts, especially the Supreme Court, have developed a set of legal doctrines that thoroughly protect all forms of the freedom of expression. When it comes to freedom we have the advantage to express our opinions.
This is the ultimate freedom one can ask for, because money cannot but everything, not even freedom. Buying what we want in life is not that simple. We must work, earn money, go to college, etc to be able to buy what we want. Therefore, the freedom to buy what we want does not exist as a basic right, but the freedom to say what we want is a basic right that does exist in the United States of America.
Nicely written
as always an agreeable essay ;)
Just want to add something -- people always want an "absolute freedom"; however, it can't be so. An absolute freedom you can have when you are dead. Everyone has responsibility not to harm others by his/her freedom of actions or speeches.
So, even though we are protected by the First Amendment, we should take a good part of it.
Thank you & G'Luck
