Sigmund Freud, physiologist, medical doctor, psychologist and father of psychoanalysis, is generally recognized as one of the most influential thinkers of the twentieth century. He coined the term "psycho-dynamics" to describe the constant tension and conflict between opposing forces. As a pioneer of these fields, he has made a major contribution to the improvement of them. However his theories are very controversial now because they contain bizarre elements.

First, Freud was the first one to describe three components that make up our mind. The conscious mind includes everything that we are aware of. This is the aspect of our mental processing that we can think and talk about rationally. The pre-conscious is all the thoughts, feelings and memories we can draw into consciousness at any time we want. The unconscious mid is a reservoir of feeling, urges, memories, and thoughts that we don't ordinarily have access to. Freud said that the unconscious continues to influence on behavior and experience, even though we are not aware of them.

Secondly, I'm going to discuss the id, ego, and superego. Freud divided the structure of adult personality into three parts, id, ego, and super-ego. They work together to create complex human behavior. Id is the instinctive part of personality that we are born with, and responds directly and immediately to the instincts. According to Freud, id is the source of all psychic energy, making it the primary component of personality. The id is driven by the pleasure principle, which is the idea that every wishful impulse should be satisfied immediately, regardless of the consequences. Anxiety or Tension occurs in our mind if these needs are not satisfied immediately.
