Functions of Management

Travel any where in the world and it can be found that in every country or nation there is a top dog with a vision to run things their way. When I was in the military I had to follow the rules and regulations of the government set by the President of the United States. All rules and regulations that were made are to keep any military personnel from crossing any boundaries as set per the government. Joining the military was a huge part of my life and will remain with me for the rest of it. I remember I couldn't even fathom the idea of joining the military and following military laws that practically would make someone like myself give up most of their life. I joined the Marines Corps for the challenge and of course following orders was hard for me but what choice do you have but to follow orders.

The United States Government has developed effective ways to run their organizations. One way the government keeps the military in order is through a chain of command. For example; The President of United States is known as the (top dog) leader and below him is the vice president, after him comes the head of the department of defense and then the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The chain of command is followed by almost every company today and it is very effective. "To truly be innovative requires that employees try new things. Yet, not all new ideas can be successful. Therefore, the organization that says that it embraces innovation and then punishes employees for ideas that don't work is not "walking the talk." Those firms that embrace innovation encourage employees to take risks. The firm encourages employees to try new things: and if they...
