The Great Gatsby vs. Winter Dreams
These two great stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald both depict some of the same ideas and principles. Although neither story is completely comparable to the other. While both stories talk about the overwhelming powers of love, and the undeniably tempting lust for money, they tell a completely different story.
The Great Gatsby, is a novel, set in the roaring 20's ( a very crazy, dramatic time in history ). About a man who's cousin has a very mysterious admirer, "Jay Gatsby" . "Winter Dreams" however, is a short story, also set in the 20's, about a man from poverty, "Dexter", falling madly in love with a girl of riches. Although in both stories, the love-struck men end up hurt and broken emotionally.
"Jay Gatsby" and "Dexter" have much in common. Dexter is a mysterious man with few friends. He worked his way up from the bottom and got where he wanted to be.

The Short Stories of F. Scott FitzgeraldGatsby did literally the exact same thing in the novel. Both men fell in love with women of privilege, and got completely screwed over.
"Daisy" and "Judy" are the two girls that capture the hearts of our two young men. Both girls come from rich families, both girls are stunning. Although there are some differences between them, they still basically affect the people around them the same. Daisy is a timid girl, torn by the love she has for two people, she wants both of them but can't leave one for the other. Judy on the other hand, is not a very nice person in my opinion. She is a free spirit and doesn't want to be tied down, and she shows it through destroying the heart of Dexter.
