Getting into shape is all the rave in the new millennium. Every time you open a newspaper, magazine, or turn on the TV you are bound to read or hear something about getting in shape and exercising. Everything is also low carb, or low sugar these days as well. Society is infatuated with the exercise craze. I started exercising while in the military because we were given extra time during our workday to exercise. At first, I was just going to get out of work and I was only going through the motions. After a while, I decided that if I was going to do this every day, I might as well take it serious. So I sat down and analyzed my personal situation. In order to get into shape, you need a well thought out plan.

So you want to get into shape? Well the first thing you need to do is sit down and decide what your goals are.

Everyone's body is different so we all have different goals. Some people are small and want to bulk up, so they are going to concentrate on lifting weights, first building strength and then lifting heavier for more bulk. Others are overweight and want to trim down the pounds, so they are going to concentrate on lighter weights and more cardiovascular training. And even others are right in the middle and want to just tone up what they have. They will combine strength training and cardio. So we all have different goals in our exercise programs. You have to decide what is right for you.
