Healthy Genetically Modified Foods? What do tomatoes, soybeans, and McDonald's French fry all have in common? They areall some of the most commonly genetically modified foods sold on the market today. By usingthe genetic information from one organism, and inserting or modifying it into another organism, scientists can make food crops stay fresher, grow bigger, and have the right genes to create theirown pesticides. Nevertheless, the technology to modify genes has surpassed its practicality.

Today, when one eats GM foods, they do not realize the kind of chemicals and bacteria that he orshe puts into their bodies. Everyone that consumes food has a desire to stay health, but since theaverage man consumes genetically modified foods, no one would be able to stay one hundredpercent health. This is why GM must be excluded from our society.

GM foods, or genetically modified foods are made when biochemists take out a certaingene from one plant and insert that gene or DNA into a different plant.

From this, the offspringof the plants that have been modified evolve into different hybrid plants. As a result, the newoffspring could have fruit three times the size of the original parent. Genetic engineering enablesscientists to create plants, animals and micro-organisms by manipulating genes in a way thatdoes not occur naturally. However, humans have encouraged this research so far that it actuallyhurts all of humanity. There have been studies conducted proving to all that the new enzymesthat have been created by genetically modified plants are in fact harmful. This is why geneticallymodified foods need to be removed from everyday agriculture because of the threat they pose tohuman health, the environment, and the impact on global economy.

For example, genetically modified foods could produce new toxic substances, and/orallergens. A gene from the Brazil nut was inserted into the DNA of a soybean...
