Catcher in the Rye The future for Holden is a slight reflection of his past. for my essay I can't see holden going on in life with out troubles.

Holden gets out of the hospital after being in it for a year and a couple of months. You can see that his views on life and people have change. However you can still see that there is a little hate towards phonies. He is slowly falls back into a minor depression due to schoolwork and girl problems. You can still see that he would like to get back together with Jane, however Jane is in love with a different person. This causes Holden to go back into a slight depression on a coarse only getting worse. He is remitted to the hospital but only for a couple weeks, he finally feels like himself again. However there is no way to know until he is tested.

He has a hard time finding a job, the only jobs he has had are under average jobs do to lack of schooling. After a couple of years of working these lower end jobs, he's offered a job going to schools talking about his depression and how he overcame it. As he is at a school doing a speech he meets a beautiful young schoolteacher. They fall in love and get married. Holden is at his all time emotional high because everything is going great for him. After a couple years of being married problems come between the two of them ending in a divorce. Holden is in denial and is starting to feel depressed again, but it doesn't last. He realizes what has happened and understands that it is best. Holden has overcome his illness and has past a test to show it.

I pick this out come because I couldn't see Holden getting through life with ease. And feel that it would take many years to fully get over his illness. I
