In today's humanity there are countless prejudices that occur. They vary from racial, and gender prejudices to sexual preference and religious discrimination. I have chosen to explore the statistics of people who are homosexual and if it should be morally accepted in a Christian society. I am not really positive on how I stand on this subject because I am a religious person, and my church has stated that, "all who seek to live faithfully regardless of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, or social circumstances are welcome to full participation in the life of the congregation." Even with my church being open with this issue, I still am not sure how I feel on the matter. The morals of today's population vary from person to person, and a topic such as homosexuality, in this instance, can be very controversial in the current events of today's world. Many biblical intellectuals use the bible to condemn homosexuality. According to an online Q&A website on homosexuality and religion, I discovered that out of the "31,173 verses contained in the Bible, there are less than a dozen that allegedly deal with the topic of homosexuality." Verses such as Leviticus 18:22 which states, "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable," and Leviticus 20:13 explains that, "if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them," are just a few that are used to attack homosexuality.
