Illegal Immigration Causes Drawbacks on our Country

Currently the United States Government has a problem with the overwhelming amount of people wanting to gain citizenship into the country. Today there is an estimated eight million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States, four and a half million are Hispanic and half of them reside in the state of California. Forty percent of all the illegal immigrants in the country have expired visa's and fail to renew them by just staying in the country. (Federation for American Immigration Reform) The Excessive amount of illegal immigrants in the U.S causes higher tax increases, a higher unemployment rate, and higher crime rates.

Therefore staggering amount of illegal immigrants in the U.S. right now is causing an enormous drawback on public funds, which leads to higher taxes. The taxes paid by immigrants are not enough to cover the costs of high quality education, health care, and retirement security.

Although there are many states trying to pass laws to reduce the cost of public universities for illegal immigrants schooling, the government will not give these price breaks to out of state students who are legal citizens. Also leaving U.S citizens to pay higher taxes for this to happen and not receive the benefits from these tax increases. On the other hand though I believe that no person should be denied the rights to life, liberty, and property.

The overpopulation of illegal immigrants is increasing the amount of competition in the work force for Americans with minimal job skills. Because illegal immigrants will work for substandard wages and poor working conditions but still make more money than they would in there country. They need to work, to pay for food and shelter.
