Indians have resided in the United States much longer than any white person has. They have a whole different culture and way of life than we do as well. There are many different tribes but all have the same structure. Live off your land, love your land, and be happy. To me it sounds neat; a different way of looking at things and really loving you and where you are from.

On the other hand, many would say they are just lazy. I mean think about it, they have no jobs and are still paid by the government. That's not even the best of it; they pay NO taxes! What kind of crap is that? Listen to this statistic; only 33% of Native American women have even completed high school! That is just sad! The four major priorities of Indians declared by The Indian Nations at Risk Task Force are 1) Developing parent-based and culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate early childhood education, 2) Making the promotion of students' tribal language and culture a responsibility of the school, 3) Training more Native teachers, and 4) Strengthening tribal and Bureau of Indian Affairs colleges.

Why don't they try and get a real job? Maybe then they wouldn't have to take from our government! Native American's have helped us out a lot. Some things they have accomplished we would be completely lost without them. For example, Indians in the North American Northeast used foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) to treat heart problems. They administered it with extreme care since high doses were needed and the plant is highly toxic. Also, they made weapons and tools of wood, bone, and stone. The blades of their flint surgical instruments were so thin that the incisions they made could not be duplicated until the advent of laser surgery.
