TechnologySound is used in nearly all of the modern day films, for music and dialogue. The use of the sound has many advantages. The Diegetic sound is a sound that comes from a visual source in the screen. Like a radio or a T.V to make t he audience aware where the sound is coming from. The Non-diegetic sounds you cannot see, but they help to create an atmosphere and mood. Now days video and sound is recorded together already synchronised, which saves a lot of time for the Video Directors.

The quality of vision has evolved to a very high standard. Now days we have our movies in digital format where as before they were saved in 50ft reels. Before the 1920’s silent films were filmed at slower speeds. Now days the film has to be shown in its original speed, otherwise the film will be difficult to view and jerky.

Inter-titles were used to dictate the speech and the dialogue during the films when sound was not used in the films. Silent films had no sound for dialogue. Onscreen inter-titles had to be used to narrate the key points in the story. Also as the films were in black and white when inter-titles were used so having them in a film was vital for the audience to understand as black and white is sometimes harder to see what’s going on.

In the late 1800’s the Cinematograph was invented and patented by the Lumière brothers. This was and early film camera which also served as a projector. The Cinematograph used films without perforations and the jerkiness was synchronised with the cameras shutter. Now days, the film cameras are much more precise and advanced.
