Life in the modern era is continuously changing and evolving from time to time. Societies and cultures are in constant motion and traditions relating to particular societies or cults are altered or vary in meaning and understanding as they are passed down from generation to generation. Everything changes overtime whether they are beliefs or religion or maybe something more abstract such as ideology or political policy as it tends to develop certain kinds of social culture. There can be no exact answer to the questions surrounding social change in order to conclude how or why a society changes the way it did. Similarly, the Khoja Shiite's (pronounced as shiaa) community based in Dubai, U.A.E has also undergone through this transition.

Social change is used to describe or explain the changes in a society based on relationships and culture over time. All societies and cultures are subjected to social change. Change at times may occur and remain almost unnoticed.

Members of the society determine the impact and the amount of change within the society. "The actions of individuals, however, occur within the context of culture, institutions and power structures inherited from the past, and usually, for these individuals to effect dramatic social change, the society itself is tripe' for change" (Preston, 2000, para. 2).

When speaking about social change, we refer to the interchanging ways human beings relate to one another within a society. Social change is the adaptation and amendment that takes place within social systems in respect of the way it may be structured or the method in which it operates. A number of factors exist that may cause or prove to be a catalyst for social change such as improved technology and transportation, rise in bureaucracy, expansion and globalization, ideologies, international or local conflicts to name a few...
