Integrity is the adherence to moral and ethical principles and the soundness of moral character and honesty. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, there are several characters that present integrity throughout the book, but one persistent character is Atticus Finch. Atticus is a well-honored man living as a lawyer in a small town called, Maycomb, in the 1930s. Atticus is role model to not only his children, but to the whole town and his integrity is what makes him such a good example to others. Integrity is how a person react when they are in a quick decision making situation. Atticus has a high standard of morals and is always true to them. He looks out people other than himself. He is determined to do the right thing in everything and everywhere.

He is a true man of his integrity and word.

Atticus displays integrity by standing up for what he believes in is right. He agreed to defend Tom Robinson not only because he had to, but also because he was fighting for equality of an innocent man against injustice and racial prejudice. His show of integrity in this case is reflected onto his children. They came to know that their father is a man of courage and he is considered a hero to all of those around him. Even when sometimes, Jem and Scout want to fight those who insult him and his family, Atticus reminds them to stay true to their morals.
