Chris Smith is the new Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at Faith Hospital. He is on cloud nine because of his new job, he was just engaged to be married, he is buying a home and within days he will be a college graduate. Chris feels that he is on the top of the world and nothing can bring him down. However, Chris is sadly mistaken and after a meeting with his new boss, he is going to find that he is going to have to get his head out of the clouds in order to complete his first assignment. In his first meeting with his new boss Chris finds that there are many problems at Faith Hospital that need some serious evaluation and correction. Pat, Chris's new boss explains to him that in two weeks Pat will hold an all staff meeting to explain the current issues in the hospital and to propose solutions on how the issues can be resolved.

In order for Pat to hold this meeting and be able to discuss issues and solutions in an informed manner, he assigned Chris the task of coming up with a preliminary report that will form the basis for the meeting.

From the meeting with Pat, Chris could see that there were a growing number of problems within the organization, it appeared that everyone in the organization had lost site off the company's vision, and were following their own interpretations of it. In order to understand this statement one must know how the Faith Hospital Mission statement reads, it is as follows:
