Let it pour - My First Assignment as Executive Assistant is an article that deals with problems at Faith Community Hospital. Chris Smith was just promoted to Executive Assistant at the hospital. His first task is put together a preliminary report that the CEO will use to prepare his speech for a staff meeting This is the first staff meeting of its kind in almost ten years. Solving the problems the hospital is facing seems to be important to the success of the hospital and the staff keeping their job including Chris.
Step 1: Identify the Problem
Currently, are large range of problems that are affecting the hospital's ability to run and maintain its daily functions. These problems are threatening the stability of the hospital. There seems to be three major problems that Chris has needs to address and are currently effecting the internal operation of the hospital.
The first major problem facing Faith Community Hospital is the raising cost of running the hospital, paired with the drop in patient population.
The hospital's cost has risen over twenty dollars per patient when compared to last years cost. The hospital has also seen a seven percent drop in patient population. These rising costs and drop in patient care may force Faith Community to make some serious cutbacks in operating funds.
The second concern that is facing Faith Community Hospital is the employees' inability to follow the policies set by the hospital. Employees are using their own personal set of religious beliefs and morals judgments to justify their actions. These beliefs are beginning to define their role in the hospital. These judgments are being made without the approval of the hospital management staff. They have also have decided not to follow and uphold the mission statement that was put in place...
