Abstract

There are multiple levels of planning and the strengths, weakness, threats and trends have each resided within each corporation that exists. The Home Depot has stood the test of time and has outlined a mission for its company to improve and to attain the goals that the company has set.

There are various factors that influence each level of the planning function and have been demonstrated with several corporations nationwide. The Home Depot is a prime example of how these influences have affected the company and their customers. The strengths, weaknesses and threats are all aspects in which the Home Depot management team has prepared for in their business planning.

Strengths

Home Depot Inc. is the largest home improvement chain in the world and the second-largest retailer in the United States after Wal-Mart. These results are possible thanks to the strengths of the company, which are: its size, the business model, a distinctive product range, and the capital expenditure management and priorities.

Size

The Company operates in North America with 1,940 stores across the 50 states (including Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands), Canada and Mexico.

Home Depot is a retailer for home improvement and construction for do-it yourself customers and professional, and operate with Home Depot stores and EXPO Design Center stores in selected U.S. markets, providing high and home design products and home services. The company also owns two-brand stores focused on the professional market, called The Home Depot Supply store, with five operating stores and Home Depot Landscape Supply with 11 operating stores.

Business model
