The novel's protagonist, the twelve-year-old English boy who is elected the leader of the group of boys stranded on the island. He is a very good leader who turns out to go from civilization to savages. In this piece of document, it describes how Ralph behaves and his personalities. All the information was gathered directly from the book “Lord Of The Flies”.

First off all, this piece of document is a diary, a diary that Ralph received on his birthday, the day before he departed to the field trip, which resulted in the plan crash. This diary consists of information that has been written by Ralph, it only has one diary entry that explains all the personal information about Ralph. I described Ralph as Impulsive, because on pg. 37 “ We must make a fire” states that he is doing things without thinking about it. He decided to make the fire without thinking it over.

I described him as Controlling, “We’ll have… rules”, this quote states that he is controlling because he wanted to make rules and laws right away, this quote is found on pg. 31 and an example of a rule made would be the rule about the conch. He is not trustworthy, when piggy told him not to tell anyone about his name “Piggy”, Ralph went on and told people, a quote that backs this statement is “You told… said piggy” on pg. 21. Ralph is Optimistic, “This is our island, … fun” on pg. 33 shows how he thinks that they can have fun without the grown ups.

Ralph is attractive also, as I stated from the quote from pg. 19 “there was a stillness about Ralph as he sat down that marked him out: there was size, and attractive appearance.” He was very attracting and fit, therefore that was one reason why he was a good leader for the civilization side. Ralph is a very motivational type of character “While we’re … time.” On pg. 33, states that he is motivating little kids into doing something they never thought of doing. He is also very inconsiderate; he participated in taking piggy’s glasses.

I made sure to acknowledge every point and details from these quotes and I exposed it as a diary, which was written by Ralph. I made Ralph him self tell the reader about him self. Since the diary was written in the 1940s, I made it look very old because it is being read at 2008. It has been along time therefore the diary looks really old. The text in the diary is also fixed to suit a 12 year olds writing standards.
