Charles Milles Manson, born November 11th 1934, was a very unusual person with an ability to dominate others. He was the creator of a vicious, religious cult around himself. The media later called this cult "The Family". At one point the cult had reached over one hundred people at the Spahn Ranch, which was located 30 miles north of Los Angeles Ca. Charles was called both "Satan" and "God" by his followers.

They thought they had to go to the desert and bring along all the children that they could convince to join the cult. Children were not excluded from anything. This "freedom" was what the younger people wanted. They could participate in sexual activities, experiment with drugs, or use guns and drive cars.
