Marketing Plan Outline

Introduction: The world today is always changing and it makes it very challenging for the marketing community. Today's marketers are confronted with a global market where their customers are not just the people who live in their country but people from all over the world. It is not just the people they must consider when marketing their product, it is the cultures that they are part of that the marketers job a difficult one. In this paper I will outline a global marketing plan for a new sports equipment product.

The product I will be marketing is a brand new ski that changes stiffness depending on the terrain sensed. Although developed and manufactured here in the United States, the largest market for this product is in the international market. There is not enough market demand in this country for a new ski to make it very profitable.

In order to help enter a new foreign market I will develop relationships with local companies to help partner with them. This will help gain some market share as well as helping us gain some local knowledge about the market. Products made in the United States are generally perceived as well made and of superior technology. (, 2010)We will use this reputation when presenting the product in the global community.

One strategy we will incorporate is to customize the product for each market. There are different types of terrain and different types of skiers in each target market. For example, in Switzerland the terrain is very steep and mostly consists of mountains therefore the majority of skiers are downhill skiers.
