The day my son was born

The feelings of love washed over me and took away all the pain.
I cried from joy and sheer exhaustion.
I rocked you back and forth happy to have you in my arms.
I didn't know what "complete" meant, until you arrived.
I didn't know how much love I had inside me to give 15

Known and imagined was less meaningful.
My world as I know it began to transform and change
I became a mom, a guardian, a protector,
A new mother with new feelings of love 20
