Le Touquet has been extending its seasonality over the past years. One way in which it has extended its seasonality is by building the aqualud in March 2002. It is an all year round attraction and not just a summer attraction. From the outside it looks a glass pyramid under which the temperature is about 27 C and the water is at 29 C. It has many features, some of them are: Toboggan, Sparkling waters, 4000 sq meter wave pool and a Jacuzzi. In the summer, Aqualud opens up a 4000 sq meter outdoor pool featuring a toboggan, cascades and bubbling water.
Le Touquet also has crazy gold. It is located on a green area 50 metres from the beach and includes 18 holes! As well as having mini golf, the centre includes one bar, a panoramic terrace, international standard mini golf.
Le Touquet also had sand yachting which offers a major advantage for sand yachting enthusiasts with its extensively sandy beach (about 15kns long) exposed to the strong on shore winds.
The beaches of Le Touquet also offer one sailing. There is a sailing school which is recognised by the French sailing federation, offering activities for people aged 8 years old, for people who want to discover sailing, learn to sail or to perfect technique to prepare an exam.
All these factors help increase tourism in Le Touquet. The Aqualud is a great attraction for both children and adults. The Aqualud increases tourism during all seasons whilst all the others make good use of the beaches of Le Touquet and help increase tourism mainly during summer. These are the ways Le Touquet is extending its seasonality.
