Youth group New Year’s eve 2001 Audience: H.S. & Jr. High Believers and non-believers Opening: Can any of you remember an experience w/ a person that has changed your life? Maybe a professional athlete, a teacher, a friend, a rock singer, or even just a stranger. Well, I want to challenge you to look at how you can experience Jesus just like some of the examples we’ve watched.

Subject: Jesus Central Theme: experiences w/ Jesus Objective: Everyone should have an experience with Jesus because of these three points         Rationale: Point 1: Won’t have to be part of the crowd a.         tired of the game b.         Example: B. ball last night c.         Example 2: Dave & Amaj d.         Christ: gives a place to belong, be okay w/ yourself         Point 2: Wonder if there is something more to life                         a. sit in front of the video game, tv, field, studying e.         going to drinking, sex, drugs c.         Example: after a practice, or loss.

d.         Example 2: friend who used to be able to dunk e.         Christ: gives a purpose         Point 3: Want to be a different person a.         see a quality in someone b.         person you look up to c.         Example: jr. high trying to make myself be something different----never could it would always fail.

d.         Christ: changes you from the inside out Closing: The best thing about all of this, is that its your choice. All you have to do is open your heart, and believe to accept who Jesus is and what he has done for you. If any of you would like to open your hearts lets take the time right now, everyone just close your eyes and tell Jesus what’s on your heart and that you want him to be a part of your life. If anyone would like to talk I’ll be up here for a while and you can come talk to me or any of the other leaders.
