1. Introduction

Acer established in 1976, it is one of the world's largest PC manufacturers that rank as the world's No. 4 branded PC vendor, offering a broad range of PC products from industry-leading high-end PC servers and multimedia desktop computers to notebooks, computer peripherals and components. Acer is also a major Internet-enabler, providing Internet component technologies, devices and services.

These include end-to-end solutions, mobile phones, plasma displays, TFT-LCDs, projectors, wireless communications, and e-corp solutions. The Acer Group employs nearly 37,000 people in 232 enterprises spanning 41 countries worldwide, supporting dealers and distributors in over 100 countries. Estimated revenue for 2006 is US$11.31 billion. (Internet1).

From 1998 to 2007, Acer experiences a series of reform in organization in order to the new business model work. That is because the company's ability to manage such a complex global business had been hindered by coordination problems that hampered its inventory control and supply chain management. In 1996, when a severe downturn in DRAM prices, which caused its semiconductor business into a major cash drain. At the same time, aggressive pricing by major PC vendors such as Compaq, HP, Dell and IBM cut into Acer's branded PC business, especially in the U.S., where the company lost money...
