Parental Responsibility Parents are guardians of God's children and are to train, educate, and care for them ~ Quote, (1) "We are the guardians of our children; their training and education are committed to our care, and if we do not ourselves pursue a course which will save then from the influence of evil, when we are weighed in the balance we shall be found wanting. FOUND WANTING? ~ Start at the beginning. I THINK: it's scary and difficult to think of being a parent in this world the way it is now. There are so many different things to worry about; things you would want to protect your children from and stuff like that. So, the manual kind of lays things out for us, not that we can totally abide by it for raising our kids, but still, it's a good start.

~ Seek to honor you children.

HONOR? Teach them truth and not error, teach them to love and serve God, to believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

~ Most of us have been privileged to grow up in the gospel, but we all have had its influence in our lives, it is so important, don't let it go to waste.

~ Mothers are so important to their children. The children you raise will live as you raise them.

~ Quote (2) "The mothers are the moving instruments in the hands of providence to guide the destinies of nations. Let the mothers of any nation to teach their children, not to make war, the children would grow up and never enter into it. Let the mothers teach their children, "War, war upon your enemies, yes, war to the hilt!" and they will be filled with this spirit. Consequently, you see at once what I wish to impress upon your minds is, that the mothers are the machinery that gives zest to the whole man, and guide the destinies and the lives of men upon the earth." Please comment Parents should rear their children in love and kindness ~ The golden rule so strongly applies here. Treat your children the way you want to be treated, do unto others, as you would have others do unto you.

~ Wrath is bad. Control your temper and do not let anger invade or over come you. Don't lose control of yourself, SEE THE MANUEL.

~ Many parents re anxious to govern and control your children. You musty concentrate on controlling yourself. If you can not control yourself, how can you expect a child and infant in understanding, to be more wise, prudent and better than one of growning age and matured? ~ Don't drive your children, lead them. Give them understanding and teach hem as their minds are prepared to receive it.

~ PARENTS should govern by faith rather than the rod, lead them kindly by good example by all truth and holiness.

~ Don't do things by using force.

Parents should kindly and firmly lead their children in righteous living ~ We have a huge responsibility, to be a parent and raise children in the gospel. Though this seems like it is down the road quite a ways for most of us, this is a responsibility that we have been working on for all of our lives, but now is the time when we need to recognize it and prepare for the responsibility.

Children can be bound to their parents by and everlasting tie ~ Quote, (1) "We are the guardians of our children; their training and education are committed to our care, and if we do not ourselves pursue a course which will save then from the influence of evil, when we are weighed in the balance we shall be found wanting.

Consequently, you see at once what I wish to impress upon your minds is, that the mothers are the machinery that gives zest to the whole man, and guide the destinies and the lives of men upon the earth." Please comment ~ Scripture (3) Proverbs 29:15 Proverbs 13:24 ~ Quote (4) "Let the father and mother, who are members of this Church and Kingdom, take a righteous course, and strive to do good all their lives; if they have one child of one hundred children, if they conduct themselves towards them as they should, binding them to the Lord by their faith and prayers, I care not where those children go, they are bound up to their parents by an everlasting tie, and no power of earth or hell can separate them from their parents in eternity; they will return again to the foundation from whence they sprang."
