In Patrick Henry's Speech to the Virginia Convention, he proposes a problem to the President and his delegates. He was speaking against the British Ministry and the new taxation laws, one of which was the Stamp Act. He does not want this, and he is speaking to get the mater(s) settled.

He states that argument and petition have yet to work. He also stated that they had remonstrated, supplicated, and prostrated. As a result, those tactics had resulted in disregard, insult, and violence. In Henry's mind they had tried all except for one thing.

What was the one thing left to do? "We must fight!" were the words from Henry's mouth. He states that they have no choice but to do this. He stresses so much on this that his last words were, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" If I was President at the time, and I heard Henry's speech, I would act on it without thought.

There was nothing but the truth in it, and I'm sure many others were behind him on it. Even if it was the last resort, war seemed to be the only thing to put an end to this situation.
