Throughout life, we meet many people who impact us in a way. Their impact can be for a day or for a life time. It can be for the better or for the worse. Hector, my boyfriend, is more than a man; he was and still is my hero. Life is full of unexpected experiences, no one knows what will happen in the very next moment. Thankfully, when I felt like my world was crashing down, he was there to catch me. He was soft spoken, yet every word he said held strong meaning. Hector helped me accept myself for who I am, he always took the big step of being my best friend and he taught me to never give up and keep moving forward to accomplish every goal I wanted to succeed in.

Hector's unconditional love helped me accept myself for who I am.

I can honestly say I was ashamed of who I was before. Never was I satisfied with my appearance and I was always jealous of every girl because they all had something that I didn't have. A pretty face, beautiful body, and a lovely personality to match with it is what I never had, I believed. Hector felt that having high self-esteem was one of the most important values a girl could have. Shortly after, I began to change internally. I started to talk differently, my views on life and love became more visual to me, I even began to change the way I dressed. It never changed who I was as a person; I just learned how to enhance the love and respect for myself that was already in stilled in me.
