Introduction

The topic which I have chosen to research on is Poverty. The motive of my selection of this topic is because of its global effect it has on the people of the world. There are three (3) different types of poverty According to the Encyclopedia; Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money. Absolute poverty of destitution refers to the deprivation of basic human needs which commonly includes food, water, sanitation, clothing, shelter, health care and education. Relative poverty is defined contextually as economic inequality in the location or society in which people live. The World Bank estimated 1.29 billion people where living in poverty in 2008, of these, about 400 million people in India are living in absolute poverty, and 173 million people in china also. In terms of percentages of regional populations, Sub-Saharan Africa at 47% had the highest incidence rate of absolute poverty in 2008.

Between 1990 and 2010 about 6.63 million has moved above the level of absolute poverty.

Some of the main causes of trends in a countries economy, lack of education high divorce rate which cause feminization of poverty, overpopulation, epidemic diseases such as AIDs and Malaria and environmental problems such as lack of rainfall. This theme is academically related as it is in partial fulfillment of the Internal Assessments component of the communication Studies course being pursued. Being a soft hearted person , I think it is everyone's right to be treated equally and to not be seen in jeopardy as well as each individual right been abused. As a personal belief and as a Christian, I consider it morally wrong for an individual to live under the condition that is way below the living standards which are arising issues of poverty.
